Don’t Be Cheap

October 25, 2017

When I was getting divorced, I was very focused on my conditions; this is what I’ll accept and this is what I won’t accept, I’m not giving this up, I’m keeping this, I’ve worked too hard to give this away. Man, did it cause me a lot of pain, a lot of suffering, trying to figure out how I was going to hold on to my fair share.

In the end, I gave most of it away. Why? Because I wanted my freedom. And I learned in this process that…I made money before and I’m going to make money again.

Ultimately, what was important for my health was to move on. And now, being on the other side, I can tell you I made the right call. I survived and I’m thriving.

On the spiritual path (and it certainly helps to have a healthy spiritual practice, especially when going through difficult life transitions, like divorce) there is a concept known as abundance. Abundance suggests that there’s more than enough of everything available for everyone in this lifetime.

We can get to a place where we’re really full of fear, and all we can imagine is scarcity. I’ve worked with lots of men who have gone through that. I’m one of them!

But the truth is, if you let go, have faith, and stop trying to hold on to every dollar, you’ll be a much happier man. Ultimately, if you follow this path, you’ll receive everything you truly need.
