Intensive Coaching for Men
You’ve probably already read what I laid out on the Divorce Coaching page, explaining the importance of having a trusted advisor at every stage of what will likely be an extremely challenging, emotional rollercoaster.
Having a coaching session once a week may be sufficient for some men, depending on their emotional health, divorce complexity, and various other factors. But for some men who are, for whatever reason, seriously overwhelmed with the prospect or actual process of divorce, crisis coaching (i.e. intensive coaching) may be necessary.
The emotional toll of divorce can cause our nervous system to be strained beyond its capacity. We can become so exhausted, so lost in our anger, grief and despair, that we’re unable to think straight. It can be a frightening time. You sit alone, confused, full of rage, unable to stop crying. You need a friendly, grounded, experienced voice on the other end of the line who can help you settle down and make a plan for what’s next.
I’m Wayne M. Levine, a men’s life coach. Over the years, I’ve seen that some men benefit from intensive coaching. These men enjoy being able to reach out at a moment’s notice, whether they want feedback, advice, or just someone who will listen. For these men, I began to offer a more comprehensive service that allows them to contact me at any hour of the day, as long as my phone is on. But given the demanding nature of this program, I’m only able to offer this service to just a few men at any given time.
For these men, this is a three-month program of intensive coaching that offers them unlimited access to my intensive coaching support. I’ve found that once men make it through the first three months of the divorce process, they’re usually able to more effectively navigate the process, allowing them to move to a weekly or bi-monthly coaching schedule.
We often feel severe shame when we’re overwhelmed. And that shame can be paralyzing. But intensive coaching could be the solution. Taking action is what gets us unstuck in any situation, divorce or otherwise. Having unlimited access to someone you trust when you’re emotionally drained can help get you to a place where you are ready to take positive action—or stop a negative one.
Sometimes, men feel like intensive coaching isn’t a viable option. They might be embarrassed, mistakenly assuming that their situation doesn’t merit intensive coaching. But everyone reacts to stressful life events in different ways. There’s no shame in seeing a professional. I chose this line of work because I saw how men all over the world dealt with their negative experiences. Some men retreat inward, and some even choose to self-medicate with alcohol, drugs or porn. As a result, I want to teach men that intensive coaching can help, regardless of the situation. You don’t have to deal with your issues alone. I can show you how the right strategies and techniques can help you be a more productive man.
